NEW DELHI: Putting an end to months of rumours and leaks, OnePlus finally launched its new smartphone, the OnePlus 5T. The handset was launched with the bells and whistles at an event in Brooklyn, New York. The handset is priced at Rs 32,999 for the 6GB RAM version and Rs 37,999 for the 8GB RAM variant. The handset will be available in India starting November 21 (4.30PM IST). This will be for the Amazon Prime members.

The smartphone has been the talk of the town since months. The Chinese tech firm already confirmed the existence of the handset few weeks ago. The company CEO even confirmed that the smartphone won't feature wireless charging tech and will still support 3.5mm headphone jack.



As compared to OnePlus 5, the OnePlus 5T comes with a slightly better camera and a bigger display.

OnePlus 5T specifications

Running Android 7.1.1 Nougat, the handset sports a 6.01-inch full HD+ (1080x2160 pixels) Optic Amoled display with a pixel density of 401ppi and 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The device will be one of the first ones to get Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box.

Powered by the octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, the smartphone like the OnePlus 5, comes in two variants based on 3GB RAM+ 64GB and 4GB RAM + 128GB storage capacities. The processor is coupled with Adreno 540 GPU.
OnePlus 5T boasts a 16MP Sony IMX398 sensor along with f/1.7 aperture. The secondary rear camera comes with a 20MP Sony IMX376K camera sensor with f/1.7 aperture and dual LED flash. At the front there is a 16MP Sony IMX 371 sensor with f/2.0 aperture.


Backing the device is a 3300mAh battery along with the support for Dash charging tech. The smartphone also features Face unlock security tech, which is said to unlock the device in 0.4 seconds
