Samsung Galaxy S6 to receive Android Oreo update

Samsung Galaxy S6 users, here's proof that the company has not forgotten you. The company will be rolling out the latest Android Oreo.

According to reddit user CyberConCoder, four Samsung chat representatives have confirmed the same. He even provided screenshots of his conversations with these representatives.

The screenshots reveal that the estimated time of arrival of this update is not yet finalized but will be rolled out for sure. Going by these, the edge variant of the Galaxy S6 should also receive the Android Oreo update.

The Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge were launched in India in 2015 at Rs 49,900 (32GB), Rs 55,900 (64GB) and Rs 60,900 (128GB) and Rs 58,900 (32GB), Rs 64,900 (64GB) and Rs 70,900 (128 GB) respectively.

The smartphones feature a 5.1-inch SuperAMOLED screen of 1440x2560p resolution. Powered by 64-bit 2.1GHz octa-core Exynos 7 processor coupled with 4GB RAM, it sports a 16MP rear camera and a 5MP front facing snapper. 

The South Korean tech giant has already started rolling out the Android 8.0 Oreo to limited Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8 Plus users. The Oreo beta version comes as a part of Samsung Experience 9.0.
